Descripción: Retrato colectivo de un grupo de aviadoras de la segunda guerra mundial que pertenecen a la R.A.F. (Royal Air Force), rama aérea de las fuerzas armadas británicas. En el centro de la imagen aparece retratada Miss Pauline Gower, que fue la líder de la sección femenina del transporte auxiliar aéreo (A.T.A.). En el reverso de la fotografía hay un pedazo de papel adherido con una inscripción en lengua inglesa y escrita a máquina donde se lee: "FX 12916. WOMEN PILOTS FLY PLANES FOR THE R.A.F. / Miss Pauline Gower, the 27 year old daughter of Sir Robert / Gower, M.P. is the leader of the womens section of the Air / Transport Auxiliary. She has a score of women pilots as her / friends, and a number are now serving with her. The duty of the pilots is to ferry the new R.A.F. training aircraft from factory to aerodrome, and includes flying in all weathers. / Photo shows Miss Pauline Gower and other members of the A.T.A. leaving a Hanson plane used for taking them to factories / and aerodromes, where they pick up advanced training planes and fly them to various aerodromes.
