The artistic collection of The Canary Museum has been increased by the incorporation of the work "The Statue of Salt", donated by its author, the painter, poet and philologist Selena Millares. The piece, iconographically inspired by the petroglyphs of the site of Balos (Gran Canaria) and made in oil on jute and wood in 2011, was part of the recent exhibition presented in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria under the suggestive title of "Island and Dream", in which the artist showed a series of paintings establishing links between visual images and poetry , thus combining matter and word.
