Archaeological material from the archaeological intervention carried out during the years 2003, 2004 and 2005 in the Castle of Mata has been deposited in The Canary Museum by the City Council of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. The intervention was carried out by the company Patrimonial Projects in the framework of the works developed for the architectural adequacy of the building as a Museum of City and Sea History. Although the bulk of the material recovered in this building has been deposited in the museum, where it will be available to researchers who wish it for consultation, a selection of these objects can be seen in the recently opened Museum of City History and El Mar.
