During January 13 and 14, 2016, Dr. Rosa Fregel Lorenzo of the Department of Genetics at Stanford University, USA, has been to The Canary Museum, where she has taken samples of mummies for DNA analysis. This work is carried out within the mummy research project that the museum is carrying out, with which Dr. Fregel collaborates.
DNA will be extracted from bone samples, causing partial destruction of the analyzed material. Once the extraction is carried out, the samples that will be returned to their place will be restored.
