Part and document of the month 2014
Archaeological fund: "The archaeological collections of The Canary Museum: the history of Archaeology in the Canary Islands".
Through a selection of 6 archaeological pieces different moments will be documented in the configuration of these collections, considering the different ways of entering the materials in the museum while taking a tour of the history of Archaeology in the Canary Islands from its beginnings to the present day.
Documentary fund: "The Library of The Canary Museum: The Origin of a Documentation Center (1879-1945)"
The Canary Museum currently has a documentation center whose genesis must be found in the so-called "library" originally composed of very heterogeneous documentary material (books, newspapers, magazines, manuscripts, etc.) Six documents will bring us closer to how this "library" was set up through donations and legacies, and how three sections specializing in bibliographic, hemerographic and archival material emerged.
