Recently, some of the results obtained from the genetic analysis carried out on various samples of the archipelago's aboriginal cattle hut have been published, including animal skins that formed the shroud in which the deaths of the pre-Hispanic population of Gran Canaria were wrapped. This project, in which El Museo Canario participated, has given rise to a rich information concerning both Aboriginal society and the current goat and swine populations (black pig), in which the genetic heritage of pre-Hispanic livestock has been of significant weight, the origin of which must be placed in Berber huts in North Africa.
