The economist Daniel Pérez Estévez has been appointed to the position of director of the Scientific Society The Canary Museum, vacant since last March. The Governing Board of the institution agreed to its appointment on the proposal of its president, Diego López Díaz, with effect from October 1.

Daniel Pérez Estévez (Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, 1980) holds a degree in Business Administration and a doctorate in Economics, and holds several postgraduate degrees specializing in business management, foreign trade, European public policies and corporate social responsibility. Precisely social responsibility was the subject of his doctoral thesis, defended at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria in 2015, and also the subject of his book The Responsible Economy, recently published by the editorial Idea.

Prior to taking on his new skills at El Museo Canario, Pérez Estévez has participated in different business development and international cooperation projects in West Africa and has held senior management positions in places such as the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the Global Group and the MBA Business School Foundation. His last position of responsibility has been chief financial officer of the port company J.A. Arocha Shipping, owned by the Danish firm Wrist Ship Supply.

With the hiring of Daniel Pérez Estévez, the Governing Board of El Museo Canario is formed by the following people:
