ISING INDIGENOUS WOMEN Within the in
digenous society of Gran Canaria, being born a woman or being born a man involved a differentiated attribution of activities and roles, thus being said that gender had an important weight in the configuration of the social and economic ordination of this population.
On International Women's Day, from The Canary Museum we want to look at the indigenous society by the hand of its female protagonists, offering what we know of today through the archaeological studies addressed in recent years. There is no doubt that by making them visible we will be able to better understand the life of the ancient canaries.
