On the occasion of Book Day, which is celebrated around the world on April 23, The Canary Museum has planned a special conference this weekend. On both Saturday and Sunday, from 10:00 to 14:00 hours, all visitors to the museum will receive with their entrance a book from our editorial fund as a special gi
ft. The books that visitors will receive are selected from the publications of The Canary Museum, an institution that since its early years bet on print dissemination and that is responsible for prestigious scientific and literary coll
ections. In addition, the museum rooms will have several reading points from Friday afternoon, where visitors can stop to browse some of our most interesting publications. In this way the books will contribute to completing the information offered by the permanent exhibit
ion. The Canary Museum has always shown a special love for books, to such an extent that, over time, it has formed one of the most important historical libraries in the Canary Islands, with printed copies ranging from the invention of the printing press, in the fifteenth century, to the most recent editions of island authors and publishers. This library, which forms an incomparable documentation center next to the library and archive, is open to the public from Monday to Friday from 10:00 to 20:00 hours.
