The Cultural Scope of El Corte Inglés kicks off next Tuesday, January 31, the cycle An Afternoon at the Museum, an incitiva that aims to bring the museums of the islands to society in a different way. The Canary Museum from within is the title chosen for this talk in which Luis Regueira and Ma del Carmen Gil, head of the Department of Dissemination and Communication, will talk about the institution.
After almost 140 years of existence, The Canary Museum is one of the institutions with more roots in the cultural scene of the archipelago. Its rich collections are a reference for students and researchers, and its exhibition proposal attracts thousands of foreign tourists and local visitors every year.
However, the interior life of The Canary Museum is not so well known. His work as a guarantor of the conservation of historical, archaeological and documentary heritage, the scientific research that is carried out in his laboratories, access to his archival and hemerographic collections, new growth projects or permanent tasks of dissemination, are only some examples of the daily work that takes place beyond the display cases of the exhibition halls.
This talk aims to offer a comprehensive vision of El Museo Canario, a center that has been constantly working in the heart of Vegueta for 140 years.
Location: Cultural Area of El Corte Inglés (Avda. Table and López, 18, 6th Floor). Free Entry
