This Tuesday, May 16, the activities scheduled on the occasion of the International Day of Museums are inaugurated in The Canary Museum, among which the conference of Dr. Amara Florido Castro "The museum of the industrial heritage of the Canary Islands: a pending subject", which will take place in the hall at 19:30
h.Canarias houses numerous vestiges of the industries that settled in the archipelago in the previous centuries , an extensive industrial heritage that differs from that preserved in other parts of the country because it has factories that were dedicated to rare products in mainland Spain, such as coffee, cocoa, sugar or rum. Dr. Florido's conference addresses the recovery of buildings and machinery and proposes the museum of historical industrial goods and spaces as a means of putting them into value and preventing their definitive disappearance.
