The Canary Museum hosts this Thursday, December 13, the presentation of Francesca Phillips's exhibition "The Search for Ancestral Faces", which is part of the events of the II Congress of Museums of the Canary Islands, organized by the Directorate General of Cultural Heritage of the Government of the Canary Islands. This exhibition will remain open to the public until March 13, 2019 (Monday to Friday from 10:00 to 17:00 h.; Saturdays, Sundays and holidays from 10:00 to 14:00 h.).
In "The Search for Ancient Faces," photographer and filmmaker Francesca Phillips draws attention to the connection between the ancient canaries and the canaries of today. To this end, he confronts the portraits of 50 current inhabitants of the islands with many other facial reconstructions of Aboriginal people of the archipelago, for which he has had the participation of Drs. Caroline Wilkinson and María Castañeyra-Ruiz, of the John Moores University of Liverpool.
The exhibition will be opened by Miguel Angel Clavijo, general director of Cultural Heritage, and diego López Díaz, president of The Canary Museum, and will feature the participation of Francesca Phillips, Caroline Wilkinson and María Castañeyra-Ruiz.
