iaDescription: Head of animal figure. It has impressions for the ears, eyes, holes of the nose and mouth. It preserves remains of almagre and traces of burnishing on th
e back of the neck. The shape of the snout and ears could represent a pig. The rest of the body is
missing. Use/function: So-called idols are anthropomorphic, zoomorfa or mixed character figures made mostly in cooked clay. These figurations manifest a preference for human representation, retaining few specimens of the animal. Written sources refer to Iron Island a cult in demand for rain. In this cult the pig played the role of median between the gods and men. Some researchers extend this rite to the rest of the Canary Islands.Proce
